How do I view/download an article received via Interlibrary Loan?

Handout Access Article Received through Interlibrary Loan

Steps on how to access an article that you have requested and then received through Interlibrary Loan:

  • After requesting an article, you will receive an email once it is available.
    • The email will be from ILLiad System.
    • The email address is ill@frostburg.edu with the subject line Requested Item Delivered Electronically.
    • The email will provide you with a link to access the article.
  • You can also access the login for Interlibrary Loan under QUICK LINKS on the library's homepage, which is www.frostburg.edu/library.
    • QUICK LINKS is on the left-hand side of the screen.
    • Under QUICK LINKS, select Interlibrary Loan.
  • When you get to the login screen for Interlibrary Loan, you will have to enter your 14-digit barcode and your last name.
    • Your 14-digit barcode can be found on your FSU ID. It starts with 2206.
  • Once you put in your barcode and last name and I select LOGON TO ILLIAD.
  • This will brings you to the main menu screen to view the articles or articles that you have received.
  • Go down to where it says VIEW and select ELECTRONICALLY RECEIVED ARTICLES.
  • This will give you the list of the articles that you have requested and received.
    • It will also give you the size of the article and the title in case you have other ones listed there.
      • It also includes the authors and the date that the article expires and will be removed from the system.
  • If you want to access an article that you have requested, click where it says VIEW
  • The PDF document will open.
  • If you want to print this article out, up in the top right-hand corner there is a PRINT ICON.
  • Remember, if you may want to down the download the article, because the system only keeps it for 30 days.
    • Click little DOWN ARROW BUTTON at the top of the screen for download.
    • It will open up in and that will open the file in Adobe Acrobat.
    • You can then save the file to your pc, the cloud, or a flash drive.

 

  • And again, if you want to keep the article, you need to download it using the DOWNLOAD ICON and then save it to the cloud, a flash drive, or your computer.
  • Once you are done viewing the article, go ahead and select the back button.
  • This will bring you back the main ILL screen and here you can then log off to ILL.
