How do I view/download an article received via Interlibrary Loan?

Answer

  • After requesting an article, you will receive an email to your FSU when it is available.
    • The email will be from ILLiad System.
    • The email address is ill@frostburg.edu with the subject line Requested Item Delivered Electronically.
    • The email will provide you with a link to access the article.
  • You can also access the login for Interlibrary Loan under QUICK LINKS on the library's homepage, which is www.frostburg.edu/library.
    • QUICK LINKS is on the left-hand side of the screen.
    • Under QUICK LINKS, select Interlibrary Loan.
  • When you get to the login screen for Interlibrary Loan, you will have to enter your 14-digit barcode and your last name.
    • Your 14-digit barcode can be found on your FSU ID. It starts with 2206.
  • Once you put in your barcode and last name, select LOGON TO ILLIAD.
  • This will brings you to the main menu screen to view the articles or articles that you have received.
  • Navigate to View > Electronically Received Articles on the left menu pane.
  • If you want to access an article that you have requested, click where it says VIEW.
  • The PDF document will open.
  • If you want to print this article out, up in the top right-hand corner there is a PRINT ICON.
  • You may want to down the download the article because the ILLiad system only keeps articles for 30 days due to copyright.
    • Click the DOWN ARROW BUTTON at the top of the screen for download.
    • It will open up in and that will open the file in Adobe Acrobat.
    • You can then save the file to your pc, the cloud, or a flash drive.
  • Once you are done viewing the article, go ahead and select the back button.
  • This will bring you back the main ILL screen and here you can then log off.
