Question

How do I log Into OneSearch from off-campus?

Answer

Handout Logging into OneSearch from Off-Campus

When you are off campus, you can search OneSearch, but until you log in, you will not be able to access any full text articles or e-books.

Steps:

  • Go to the library’s homepage, www.frostburg.edu/library.
  • Once you are there, you can go to the OneSearch box on the library's homepage and you can enter your keywords, title, or author.
  • Once you enter your keyword, your title, or your author, go ahead and select the search button.
  • The results screen will come up and what you'll see is at the top of the screen it'll ask you to log in for full access.
  • It'll say HELLO GUEST LOGIN FOR FULL ACCESS.
  • If you click an item before logging in, up at the top,  you will get a pop-up screen that will tell you that you need to login for full access.
  • To login, you go ahead and select LOGIN FOR FULL ACCESS.
  • It will ask you for your bar code and your last name, your barcode is your 14-digit number on your FSU ID, usually starts with 2206.
  • If you do not have an FSU ID, you can go into PAWS and login to PAWS and go to self-service screen. And down at the bottom is your library account information.
  • Once you are logged in, you'll be able to access the full text articles and e-books within OneSearch.

Please note the browser that you are working in should remember your barcode and last name while you are searching within OneSearch. However, if you close your browser, it may not remember your bar code and last name and might prompt you to login into the OneSearch screen again.
